Compare and Contrast: A Perfect Education

There is no such thing as perfection in logical and philosophical terms. Only the most basic parameter can lead to perfection and since most parameters have time involved it is almost impossible to gain true perfection. Still, coming close to perfection may be a good measuring stick for some ideas and notions, which is why it is part of this essay. Within this essay I will compare and contrast a good education against a poor education.

An education where students write their own essays

The use of essay writing services is so rife in the developed world that most students admit to using such services a number of times during their education. With this being the case, a perfect education would involve all students writing their own essays. A poor education has students using essay writing services and a perfect one has them writing their own essays.

An education where students cannot cheat on tests

Many of the methods a student uses to cheat within a test are blocked, even with a poor education, but that does not stop cheating outside the testing area. The most common is finding test answer keys on the Internet. It is possible to research what questions are coming up on a test and what the answers are and you can do it on the Internet. There are even students that charge money online to give out lists of the questions on the test they just took so that other people taking the test can research the answers beforehand. A perfect education wouldn’t allow such in-test or out-of-test cheating, but a poor education may exhibit poor attempts to stop cheating.

An education where mock exams are not used to memorize answers

The point of mock exams is to find the weaknesses in a persons’ learning and then sure up that weakness. If anything it gives a student the chance to figure out what he or she needs to work on so that he or she may correctly revise areas that will help improve his or her overall score. This is not what happens when a person has a poor education. Instead, the students are encouraged to learn the specific answers within mock tests because the teachers know that the same questions often reappear. An education that is closer to perfect would not allow this form of exploitation to be used.

As you can see a perfect education is one that concentrates on teaching the students so that they know the material and understand the concepts behind it. A poor education is more about getting grades through exploiting the system and outright cheating. Those are the main compare and contrast points in this issue that show how a perfect education may differ from a poor quality education.
