Introduction
If you are happy now then you need to work out how to keep it for the future, and if you are not happy then you need to find a way of being happy in the future. Your current circumstances may be of your own choosing, or they may be because of improper planning or bad luck, in which case you will need to change your current circumstances if you want a happy future.
Thesis
In this essay I will give you three very good reasons why your present circumstances are going to determine your future. And, if that point does not sit well with you, then you can act on it in order to change your future for the better.
Persuasive point 1 – You are what you think you are
People that think they are intelligent may sometimes work harder to educate themselves more, and people that think they are dumb will often give up more easily on education. Your level of self awareness and your attitude towards yourself at this very moment is therefore going to sculpt how you act in the future. This means that you may miss opportunities and not push ahead with things because of your current attitude. You could carve out a great future or a mediocre future depending on your attitude now.
Persuasive point 2 – Without planning today, you cannot control your tomorrow
Nothing happens without planning. Without planning you are letting the world control you, and if you do that then your future is set by other people. Without planning and taking action on that plan, you are making it so that other people in this world dictate your future, and there are very few people that have your best interests at heart.
Persuasive point 3 – Your present is foundation of your future
What you know now needs to be leveraged if you are to improve your future. What you have learnt so far is what is needed to make your future better, which means you need to be able to learn from your mistakes and not worry about making more in the future. What you have now is what you need if you are going to have a better future, even if what you have is only a plan for the things you need and how you are going to get those things you need.
Conclusion
What you have now it what is important for carving out your future. What you intend to do with your future needs to be decided now. And, your attitude is going to help determine how your future plays out. With all of these things together you can see how the present has a massive effect on your future. If you underestimate the present then it alone will have repercussions in the future. Plus, if you do not plan for the present and plan for the future, then your future will be dictated by others and that is a dangerous place to be in (especially if you are looking to have a fulfilling life).
